Episode Highlights
They started casually and before they even know they are in deep trouble. That is the fate of Sam&Callen with their ever funny chases and too much knowing about their jobs. Running, chasing, interrogation, leaving Deeks to his troubles and showing Granger his place, everything was casual for Scallen, until they get into the submarine!!
Any idea, why Scallen were acting so casual?
They are miraculously knowing the looming seriousness. Hetty and Kensi just know it in their head that its got to do with Afghanistan Mission and White Ghost Case. Some guilt showing up for showing disregard to the system? Contrastingly and amazingly, the rest of the team is quite serious even about their mundane decision calls. Granger and Hetty read seriousness into a call from Washington that takes away Hetty from the OSP base indefinitely. Kensi and Deeks look at it seriously as they see their bosses argue about something so much that Kensi's intinctively gets apprehensive about her White Ghost Mission gone wrong. The three women are serious enough to be backed seriously by their male partners.
Any idea why the failed and wild goose chase of the White Ghost Mission is again given an attention ?
If anyone remembers, I had actually raised all about resource wastage over White Ghost Mission in my 5x18 and 5x19 Episode summaries. So there is a semblance of sanity from administrative hierarchy perspective that higher authorities are actually investigating the fiasco. However, Hetty is indefatigable. She is going to survive everything and come back in 6x01-Deep Trouble Part-2. That's my thought.
Any idea why DEA Talia is so eager to join Deeks in the boatshed ? Whats the idea behind bringing her back? Is it to revive Densi Love Story that had been nipped in bud in 5x21-Three Hearts ? Gemmill believes in Densi and is also a Deeks fan. So I guess, Gemmill is giving a message to Dave Kalstein's Kensi that they are real girls out there to get Deeks if she keeps insisting him on opening Empty boxes because racoons mate for life.
Amen!!
Welcome to Writers World and Resetting Stories for New Season with a sense of balance sheet review of what was Season 5 was like. Scallen, Neric, Densi, Afghanistan, Hanger (Hetty+Granger), Love Story, Metaphors, Planes, Trains, Boats, Choppers and Submarine with regular stuff of Drones, Patriot Act, Interrogation, Secret Locations (Undisclosed Site) and Drug Cartels!
Season 5 actually ended with 5x21-Three Hearts.
5x24 is made to believe that it is the finale, but then actually speaking 5x22-One More Chance starts resetting all stories for New Season 6. One needs to see that 5x22 begins from a fresh perspective of the Middle. The Start of the Middle, with established Scallen like family, with Callen getting grounded into love-life, Neric happening while Densi settle down into their relationship status quo, Hetty and Granger, fighting between themselves, who gets to keep the one and only boss's chair. Granger passes his time without a chair in the OSP for the whole season, sitting opposite until 5x24 when he finally gives a news to Hetty that she needs to leave.
Question really is...with that kind of Season 6 reset happening end of Season 5, what does Season 6 look like ?

5x24 - Deep Trouble - Part 1
|
Deep Trouble indeed for Hetty. And also for Sam and Callen who are deep under the water travelling in a submarine with their lives in danger with three armed men ready to shoot them down.

No idea what is Gemmill doing in this episode. But my guess is that he is resetting the Chess Board. He just moved the board and left the chess board pieces to figure out how they want to play out.
What is he picking on? Whats going to be the punchline for Season 6? Thats the cliffhanger material.
It was a cliff-hanger episode with unresolved case, but we see no imminent danger in the form of any formidable protagonist. Something that started so casually ended up being serious. And this is what is so difference about the #NCISLAfinale. I will have to wait until Season 6 opens and I see Deep Trouble Part 2. |

Navy Engineer dead, who is traced to be missing from 28 days, who is traced to killers who have executed a boat-makers wife after he had built a submersible (submarine) for unknown guys.
|
Meanwhile, Hetty is called back to Washington indefinitely until the White Ghost Mission is investigated. According to Hetty, there is change in command and hence reopening cases.
Sam and Callen find the submarine parked at a boat repair shop packed with Ammonium Nitrate and before they are backed up by Deeks and Kensi, four men with Muslim men ambush them and set the submarine on...as in it sails on.
To be continued…..
Will Hetty return?
Will Sam and Callen survive?
What were the Men with Muslim names doing in the submarine that was supposedly sponsored by Drug Cartels? Who are they?
DEA Agent Talia is back…

NCIS Personnel Highlights and Bull Pen Fun
|
Health drink that looks like Laterine. That’s the topic.
|
Deeks health drink is happening. Sam and Callen not getting any irritated with Deeks. The change in Callen and Sam is that they accept whatever Deeks is doing, including the noise, even if they turned down the drink. So thats the season ending for Deeks looking at the older boys as brothers and bonding with them, including him whining to want to go to places where they would want to go and asking to be rescued by them when Talia and Kensi seem to be making a sandwich of him.
And likewise, the season ending Kensi is the girl in all boys gang looking for an respite from the boys gutter-talk. Season ending Sam and Callen are brothers who can be parted only by death. Season ending Nell, is as ever closer to Hetty. Hetty leaves her command in charge to Nell while she goes away indefinitely to Washington and also entrusts Nell with confidence she has in her. Season ending Eric, is the smart and serious geeky handsome guy with a good hair-style. Season ending Granger is grumpy and nervous about managing the OSP alone as Hetty is called to Washington.

Deeks (or rather R S Gemmill) calls Hetty and Granger as Mom and Dad when they fight. Why were they fighting? Hmm. About White Ghost Mission... and to what extent they can be involved in unison of the purpose and principle.
Hetty and her Samurai practice is back.
Will Granger get a seat for himself rather than roaming around to make himself useful in Season 6?

Bromance. Nothing but bromance.

Partnership -2
|
Marty Deeks - LAPD Liaison Officer
Kensi Blye -Special Agent
|
Kensi and her meaningless and senseless punching on Deeks arms. Nothing much investigative from this younger team...except for handling Talia, who was waiting to be taken to boatshed to enjoy Deeks company.

Ops Room Partnership

Eric Beale- Tech Operator
Nell Jones - Intelligence Analyst

Cute couple. Doing their bits individually apart from each other. And yet gathering and disseminating all Intel to the field agents.

Afghanistan White Ghost Story
|
Hetty, Granger, Kensi
RS Gemmills Story from 5x10 until 5x19 Episodes
|
Hetty is called to Washington indefinitely. Granger and Hetty suspect it is about the White Ghost mission. Granger has tough time giving his back to Hetty and asks Hetty to consider all alone in this matter. Hetty shows Granger thtat he could as well back-stab her if he cannot have her back. Kensi is apprehensive that perhaps Hetty is being called for the Afghanistand White Ghost Mission fiasco and tries to talk to Hetty, but Hetty does not allow her to talk at all. Hetty believes that she may come back to NCIS LA OSP base, but its also possible that she may not come back. She leaves her instructions with Nell about whats to be done if Hetty misses even for one day to check with her.

Love Story
|
Densi Love Story
RS Gemmills initiation from 5x02-Impact, 5x14-War Cries, 5x24-DeepTrouble
|
How is Gemmill planning for the Densi Love Story?
5x02-Impact : Deeks to Nate (in his head/subconscious)
Its a Love Story
5x14-War Cries : Deeks to Granger
We(Him and Kensi) are more than partners.
5x24-DeepTrouble-1 : Deeks to Talia
We are a little more than brother-sister relationship.
In this EP, he makes Deeks say to Talia that his relationship with Kensi is a little more than brother-sister relationship !!! Could it not be rephrased as something else?!!! What is going on in Gemmill's mind? Why is the Love Story being underplayed from Deeks end when talking to Talia, when in 5x16 EP Deeks already sorta impressed Talia that he could be involved with his partner.
Gemmill makes him behave as if he is shy and stuck between two attractive women, who equally punch him hard. And there it is out. Kissing is forbidden as per regulations, which ofcourse gives us a reason why kisses cannot be shown while on the job. So is that end of the love Story is that Talia is brought in to pep the losing love story with spice, such as competition for Kensi and adding confusion of two attractive women for Deeks?!!! Gemmill what are you doing? No more love story for Densi? or is it because you were so confused by Kensi's boxes and felt liberated like Deeks when refusing to open the boxes and going on with the things in Dave Kalstein's 5x21-Three Hearts Episode that you decided to take plunger and color up Deeks marketable Lover Boy status?
It is ridiculously interesting to see Kensi as usual acting highly possessive about Deeks, including the toilet seat conversation, as if to say she kinda owns even his peeing!!! Haha!! What a change from 2x09-Absolution where once Kensi called Deeks gay and having cheated her by going out with her brother, for calling her Sunshine and trying to make her his Wingman. Definitely, the reset is there. Deeks knows Kensi owns him and that's why he is so quick with his comeback of "You are beautiful" and Kensi knows Deeks is actually up for grabs by any other competitive girl like her if she does not claim him first and kill the competition.
|
Guest Chracter
|
Talia Del Campo
Joe Sachs introduced her in 5x15 -Fish Out of the Water
|
Since when she really got interested in Deeks? !!! Whats Gemmill’s story here? Have to wait until September….Bad!!!!
My thoughts: Why DEA Talia is so eager to join Deeks in the boatshed! |

In crew's terms this is known as 523-120
The Production Crew has different numbers than what later became the air sequence. Season 4 Production Schedule had an extra episode shot which was telecasted as Unwritten Rule 5x05-101 in airing reality. This changed the sequence numbers for all the season 5 episodes either in terms of Season Episode number or actual episode number for show's grand total serial number. Deep Trouble Part-1 realistically becomes 524-120 for Viewers.
