CBS Summary says this: “One More Chance” – Sam is convinced that the theft of software for a new unmanned aerial vehicle is connected with the disappearance of the lead engineer's 10-year-old daughter, a girl Sam once provided protection detail for in Saudi Arabia.
CBS Cheat Tweet was : A case gets personal for Sam when a 10-year-old girl he knew from a previous mission goes missing.
What is SD's summary for this NCIS LA Episode?
Well! I would say, the Episode goes back to its roots of working for the case, with fun involved as each partner pulls the other in witty repartees and making them work. Work and Fun. Witty repartees and Fun. So Writer David J North took us back to basics of NCIS Los Angeles. Good guys of NCIS working undercover from undisclosed locations for national security. The Agents save the UAV technology that is stolen by bad guys, who also steal part of hardware and also kidnap the family of the software engineer who developed the UAV Technology. UAV Technology is Drone Technology, a favoured war weapon for President Obama. So has to be there. There needs to be security Agency so SECNAV governs NCIS. Both are fictional entities, but representing some real secret entities. That is what Deeks highlights when Callen raises his eyes at his maintaining Facebook account, saying that they can create accounts under aliases and post material that does not compromise their identity or their work. Agents should go into life threatening situation like fire fighters and soldiers. They save people like fire fighters and kill bad guys like when they go in war. And that is what is shown, with an explosion, a kidnapping and ready to kill bad guys attitude.
Agents and team-members should also have fun while working. So we do see lot of that funny banter between everyone, which just points to us, how each of the parteners are cosy and knowing of each other.
- Sam and Callen are getting intuitive about each other. And Callen trusting a partner who seems lost to logic and yet he being Sam Hannah, will always be right.
- Deeks and Kensi, like good partners cover each others back and are perfectly back to being a loving couple on work, like they used to work in Season 2 and 3 before they became serious about each other.
- Eric and Nell, are the geeks, perfectly knowing their partner, giving the other space to hash out their difficult Intel gathering tasks in and outside Ops room.
- Hetty and Granger are getting along with each other even as two swords cannot share one sheath. They are trying to share the same table, same tasks....its getting difficult...but manageable for now...as seen by Hetty handling SECNAV communication when Granger pushes the unpleasant handling down her throat and Hetty passing on the good news about case being solved as Granger is ready to steal her thunder right under her nose.
The highlight of the episode is ofcourse two persons: Granger and Callen
- Callen gets growth in terms of his "Thank you" to Sam at the end of episode, just after he also announces going on a date. Attention is getting back on Callen...from the rootless guy to being a grounded guy with a date and a friend, who is as close as he can call for a family.
- Granger is new in the team and is trying to find a foothold to establish himself. He works with Hetty, he banters dissenting tones to Scallen, as always, but what is interesting is him trying to inch in closer to Densi and Neric. He asked Nell to join him on the field as his partner and he invited himself into Densi company for drinks after work. Getting in groove...
- Rest of the team is established and working on same lines of development.
Do I need to write this whole stuff in my tabular format?
May be Yes, May be Not. But thing is the table splits everything in pieces. Looks neatly analysed. So let me do it.

5x22 - One More Chance
One More Chance at getting back to the original Act of NCIS LA?? I wonder what is One More Chance about.
Writer
David J North
David J North is first time writer for NCIS LA, but a veteran writer for parent show NCIS.
Director
Tony Wharmby
Who can direct the original NCIS LA procedural better than him when new writers come onboard. Only Tony Wharmby. He is the seniormost and most regular director of the series. And with or without much emotional depth into episode, through the direction, he keeps the team dynamics alive. He always manages to get back the characters as they should be when they are in the roles of “Men at Work”. All professionalism. But truly enjoyable partnership output.

Episode Summary
UAV Technology and Kidnapping
Fun is while watching. Nothing to write about it.
What is intriguing though, how did the woman (Mrs Peyton) escape Deeks and Kensi’s overwatch? Does that mean Deeks and Kensi let her slip? Or was that needed to show Sam’s fervent trust in subjects that seem untrustworthy for the rest of the team? Where Sam is there, Arabia has to follow. And who stole the technology? Cartel? Which Cartel? Which organization. May be I missed it. Need to watch again.
NCIS Personnel Highlights and Bull Pen Fun
Spring Cleaning of Social Media Accounts.
Everyone has Facebook accounts. Except Callen. Even Granger has it and he follows Deeks !!!! Remember Season One Episode, when Eric finished his X number of friends on Facebook that even Director Vance congratulated him. Even Hetty in Season One had Facebook account and was following all her team members.
Ops Manager/s
OPs Manager Hetty Lange
Asst Director Owen Granger
Granger cannot just sit at Hetty’s place even if he is her boss. He needs to get a table. Good that Hetty and Granger got along with each and shared the case together, but share is not going to work at the same table. While Hetty asks Sam to connect the missing girl to missing UAV Technology, Granger keeps bothering everyone, if that is prudent and necessary. And yet, Granger just acts by rest of the team’s objective.
Partnership 1-
G Callen & Sam Hanna
Sam...and his need to save other people. Get Lucky Sam!!!!
Partners get intuitive and trusting. They take of each other like family.
Sam is happy man that he saved a young girl and Callen is going on a date. Joel….remember her????
Partnership -2
Marty Deeks - LAPD Liaison Officer
Kensi Blye -Special Agent
Partners are caring for each other. And are Yin and Yang to each other.
I will not read much into their undercover Couple Act while being an overwatch for Mrs Peyton, but I would love to watch that scene together...again at the cafe.
, Partnership -3
Asst Director Owen Granger
Nell Jones - Intelligence Analyst
Granger cannot just be sitting opposite Hetty in Ops office. He wants to be on the field too. See he misses action. So he makes Nell join him on the field just to enjoy watching Scallen and Densi. He sure loves to enjoy himself watching his Agents.
If Densi call themselves a romantic couple and Scallen are bromantic couple, Nell makes sure that Nanger is Family couple of Father and Daughter. Nell calls Granger as Dad!!! Hahaha!!!
Ops Room Partnership
Eric Beale- Tech Operator
Nell Jones - Intelligence Analyst
Case Briefing.
Aah! I missed Neric. But I liked Eric in his original form ...the way her works with fried computers and has still Deeks as his geeky and freaky surfer friend. They are Facebook friends!!

In crew's terms this is known as 521-118
The Production Crew has different numbers than what later became the air sequence. Season 4 Production Schedule had an extra episode shot which was telecasted as Unwritten Rule 5x05-101 in airing reality. This changed the sequence numbers for all the season 5 episodes either in terms of Season Episode number or actual episode number for show's grand total serial number. One More Chance realistically becomes 522-118 for Viewers.
