The NCIS LA Regulars - Can we draw their similarities and dissimilarities?

Sam and Deeks love healthy food.

Kensi and Callen love junk food.

Sam and Kensi try to dominate their partners.

Callen and Deeks actually dominate their partners through humour and making fun of their weaknesses.

Kensi takes pride in being a Trained Agent excelling in everything and is proud of being a Marine’s daughter. Streak of family/fraternity. She is a sniper like her father.

Sam takes pride in being a Navy Seal excelling in everything and is proud of being a SEAL. Streak of family/fraternity.

Callen had lonesome childhood with no one call as family for long and is now a Lone Wolf. He is son of two operatives. Being an Operative is in his blood. He has raw sense of humour and is a seething angry-emotional person from inside.

Deeks has troublesome childhood with knowledge that his living parents either hated him or could not take care of him. He fostered himself to become the lawyer, a Cop and now is Detective and part Agent with NCIS. We do not what makes him tick at this point. What is his family background and where does he get skills from, as he neither got it in blood nor was trained for it. He is a mystery. He uses a lot of humour to diffuse tension and seems he is angry too which he is successful in never bringing it out.

Sam and Kensi do a lot of exercise.

Callen and Deeks only as much is necessary.

Sam and Kensi never target Callen as he is their Teamlead. Callen doesn’t care what others think of him.

Sam and Kensi always target Deeks because he is the Outsider and not like them. Deeks does care what others think of him and yet he has his life-style guarded in his own principles.

Deeks is a man of many talents. He is intelligent, geeky, plays violin and enjoys ART in all forms (Music, Dance, Movies, Theater and Shows even like the Pole Dance). He is more humane than the rest of the team, being a very perceptible man when in contact with fellow human beings. he is not judgemental about people, but gets attached to them by seeing some good in each of them that is worth rescuing and hence his love for his job as a Cop.

Deeks sometimes is closer to Nell and Eric in terms of Geeky talents. Unlike his partner Kensi, Deeks loves to talk, bond with people.

Sam is very protective of Kensi to the point of spoiling her. He is like a brother to her.

Sam doesn’t like Deeks at all for Deeks unconventional attitude. This is until the end of Season 4. However when Deeks saves him and later Michele in Season 5 Opening episode, Sam changes his opinion about Deeks. He tells Deeks that he is a good Cop and owes him for the rest of his life.

Sam loves Callen and is protective of him.

Sam treats Hetty as his Boss.

Sam is indifferent to Eric and Nell, but would protect them like any other subject under his care.

Callen admires Kensi as a bright Agent.

Callen is surprised at the fact that Kensi is a degree higher than him on how not to talk about emotions and feelings at all. He is just amazed that someone can be just a bit more than him to handle.

Callen respects Sam and has been able to see a brother in Sam through Sam’s efforts. Sam has become his family.

Callen is indifferent to Deeks, Eric and Nell.

Callen has come closer to Hetty and sees her as his mother.

Deeks sees Kensi as a Wonder Woman, a smart agent and yet vulnerable girl who is good hearted inspite of the bullyish traits she displays. He is deeply attracted to her; is fiercely protective of her well-being and lovingly perceptive and sensitive to her emotions that she never talks about, which makes him be loyal and caring to her.

Deeks sees Hetty as Mother-like and also fears her.

Deeks respects Sam, Callen and Nate.

Deeks is friendly to both Eric and Nell.

Kensi sees Sam as her brother.

Kensi sees Callen as her Team Lead, Eric as Team Member, Hetty as her Boss and Nate as Onsite Psychologist.

Kensi sees Deeks as her partner and is as close to him as she can be, but inwardly loves him a lot with tad being possessive about him in all aspects and insecure about her losing him to death and other female competition. This is until Season 4 ending. Come Season 5, Kensi does not mind showing to Deeks that she loves him, but still does not talk about it herself and only wants Deeks to take the step in communicating this and taking to the relationship to the next level. This is explicitly built up in 5x3-Omni (What's next?), 5x8-Fallout (Something that you wanna tell me, Deeks ?), 5x9 (The entire Dinner Outing Scene). In 5x10, Kensi promises to Deeks that she will start talking about their relationship as well.

Kensi sees Nell as her friend.
Kensi is called feminine and deadly by Hetty. And shares the name of Ninja along with Hetty.

Hetty is like a mother to Callen and Deeks.

Hetty worries about all of the 4 Agents and the two Tech Room Operatives.

Hetty is fiercely protective of Callen and so is Callen to her well-being. It is quite publically known that they both share a special bond.

Hetty is charmed with Deeks Antics and loves him in some degree and it is mutually shared by Deeks too. They both do not either intrude or are obstrusive to others right to affection on them. It is more personal in nature and is private between them about the bond they share with each other. She loves him without any resorting to mocking or belittling him and instead supports his antics when they interest her, says No when it is being disturbing to others or tries teaching him in motherly way when he tries to outsmart her for more attention. Infact, she is Deeks only family other than the entire LA neighbourhood who lovingly call him Marty.

Hetty admires Nell for her intelligence and has started trusting her more with her secrets. She sees Nell as responsible and strong enough to make her trusted aide.

Hetty loves Eric geeky skills but is sorely disappointed by his lack of adherence to dress code. She chides him frequently.

Hetty is Nate’s mentor like she has been mentor to Deeks and Callen.

Hetty wants Sam to take care of Callen (family- as Callen is stuck in his past, keeps going after mirages of his past when he should be making his own family). She keeps helping Callen get out of his past.

Hetty wants Deeks to join NCIS and make his family with Kensi and NCIS family. She knows Kensi is hard nut to crack, but sees that Deeks and Kensi make a great couple together and wants them to enter a relationship of love. She supports Deeks in getting closer to Kensi and helps him in breaking Kensi's walls around her by providing crucial information.
Hetty is likened to a Ninja like Kensi and likened to a Gorgon like Nell.

Kensi is protective of her family/surrogate family.

Sam is protective of his family/surrogate family.

Deeks is protective of people regardless of whether people consider him part of his family or not. He is loyal and trustworthy by his nature and would want everyone to have happy endings.

Hetty is protective of people she is responsible for.

Callen is more for mission, but when it comes to his seeking of family, he forgets everything. His family consists of people from his past, Sam and Hetty.

Hetty is more for the team and yet takes personal responsibility to the team’s safety.
