6x02 Inelegant Heart

“Inelegant Heart” – The NCIS: LA team discovers that one of their own is compromised when they investigate the murder of a Navy contractor involved in illegal transactions of confidential data. Meanwhile, Hetty is under investigation in Washington, D.C., when the Department of Justice arrives in L.A. to investigate the team.

Highlights of the Episode:

Gemmill writes an episode focussed on Henrietta Lange’s hearing in Washington DC for her alleged misuse of Govt resources and funds and occasional exercise of liberty of self-willed execution of Govt assignments. He introduces Department of Justice as a body which can conduct audits over all federal agencies. Gemmill also backstops Darknet Chauvenet to be used later on  through the season through an episode ending where although the agents are able to put the Darknet operator behind the bars, but the agents would keep running it to find out all possible Govt information floating around before they shut down the Site. Just as the agents surmise during the episodic investigation, the episode ends with the revelation that indeed there is a mole out somewhere who has sold information on Hetty over Chauvenet.

Episode
6x02 - Inelegant Heart
An anagram for Henrietta Lange. It appears in one of the files found over Darknet Chauvenet. Someone had paid 250,000 dollars for an information on a house. As Eric deconstructs the anagram, the team finds that the file pertains to Henrietta Lange.

An important episode. Makes sense for the regular NCIS LA Directors to direct the episode.

Episode Summary
Henrietta Lange’s being questioned by Senator Michael Thomas.
DOJ coming for full scale forensic audit of all the Special Agents of NCIS LA OSP.
Introduction of Darknet Chauvenet over which one of the files “Inelegant Heart” that was sold belongs to Hetty.
The Episode’s Mission is about finding the Killer of Brian Bell, who is a private Contractor working for Cyber Security of Govt. He had been working on the man behind Darknet Chauvenet. After his death by strangulation, the threats are that possibly Govt programs have been hacked and therefore it becomes imperative that the agents find the operator of the Darknet Chauvenet fast and then shut it down.
But hinderances mount up for the team with Hetty being at Washington, Sam and Callen working in undercover at a jail. And finally when Scallen do get pulled out from their mission, Dept of Justice at the behest of Senator Michael Thomas, enters OSP site and takes control of the office with aim of full forensic audit.
And the entire episode becomes a challenge for the team to complete the case protecting themselves against DOJ inspection onsite and off-site. Hetty remotely assists the team in the same manner as Granger is able to reach out to her inspite of tight security and layered surveillance around Hetty.
Though the team successfully catch hold of Papa Lekba (Justin Stewart) the Operator of Chauvenet, running the site without business licence and contract from a recycling center in LA; the episode ends with shocking revelation of more trouble for Hetty. Someone was willing to pay $ 250000 to get information on her.
NCIS Personnel Highlights / OSP fun
The episode is racy and there is not one scene at the office that is not interesting. Let me recount.
Densi wrestling scene in the Gym reminds us of Raven and the Swans and Ravens episode of Season 4. Enter Eric Beale to call them for the case. And we have a hilarious scene to watch. As Densi get repetitive, I enjoyed watching Eric. He didn’t bother to help Deeks. At all.
The Gym is offered as work space for setting up the temp office for DOJ Special Agent Ava Wallace and her team members. And Nell Jones cuts off the power supply for the office as the team gets ready to work in the Boatshed. And what is funny is watching Eric’s scene with Wallace Stevens. Enjoyable.
And the funny banter between the whole team when team sees Scallen after couple of months may be. Deeks is impressed by Callen’s hair style.
Ops Manager/s
OPs Manager Hetty Lange
Asst Director Owen Granger
Hetty is at Washington. Going by Sam’s words, the hearing is being dragged on forever basis. Hetty does not cooperate with the investigation more than is necessary. What’s interesting is Hetty being grilled about Berstram Colt, as East german Agent known as Branston Cole at the time of his death. Senator Thomas grills Hetty for keeping Branston Colt in a hospital without any declaration to the Govt. Hetty is also grilled for sending Kensi on Afghanistan Mission when there were other qualified people who could do the same job. Its interesting to watch the antagonism between Senator Thomas and Hetty. I laughed out at her astonished innocent comeback at Senator’s grilling. “I am sorry. Was there a question?” And she was ordering her attorney too. “...act like my attorney. Sit up straight.”

Granger runs the OSP office. Efficiently and working as good team member.
Partnership 1-
G Callen & Sam Hanna
This was the first episode shot under Season 6 Production Schedule. And Chris O Donnell came back with long hair. Well..Callen looks good to me. Its almost same as Deeks. The long hair style for Callen is meant to reflect on the time they spent in undercover away from OSP office. And that indirectly reflects on time taken by Washington to try nailing down Hetty at her hearing. There is plenty of joking on hair with epithets as Angelic Mane and Thor humour.
Sam and Callen’s introduction in the episode is about their undercover in jail as prisoner and gaurd. Granger pulls them back to work on the case.
Partnership -2
Marty Deeks - LAPD Liaison Officer
Kensi Blye -Special Agent
One would rather watch the episode to enjoy their banter. I would just watch the episode to see their Season 6 dynamic established by Gemmill. Its the same friendship based partnership which is devoid of all sexism and the two competitive Agents and the LAPD Detective try to outsmart each other working the case in unison. What’s repeated for Deeks is these things:
“This is not a game show” - repeat of Granger’s snub. First time it was in 5x14-War Cries
“Who uses a pay phone?” - repeat of himself. First time it was in 5x08-Fallout.
Deeks is a geek and Deeks talking about Undercover Work is for the revelation of character attribute. The repeat is obvious for old viewers and relevant for new viewers to watch on Monday nights at 10 PM.
Ops Room  Partnership
Eric Beale- Tech Operator
Nell Jones - Intelligence Analyst
We must watch the episode for Eric Beale, Nell Jones and Neric. Watch for
Eric’s scene with Densi
Eric’s scene with Scallen on field
Eric’s scene with Special Agent Ava Wallace
Eric’s scenes with Nell
Eric the confident and proud Tech Operator. not agreeing to Brian Bell as incredibly being smart
Nell as Hetty’s protege
Nell when saying to Eric Beale, “you are still my fav brain.’
Guest Characters
Senator Michael Thomas
Special Agent for DOJ - Ava Wallace
Impressive in their Characters !
