BOOM! That was Joey Wilson's story today!
- Must watch episode. Interesting, enjoyable, warm, endearing and intriguing.
- Watch it for Boom! Action drama.
- Watch it for Deeks and Callen pairing. Ever wondered how they work as pair. You will not complain.
- Watch it for Deeks and his two elder brothers. The big boys have indeed accepted Deeks as the younger one, willing to take him along with them, willing to teach him their "between the lines" language.
- Deeks and Nell. Nell a common friend of Deeks and Kensi. And that is quite a sharable platform for Deeks to let out his anxierty.
- Deeks and Eric...Sometimes even Eric can be intimidating and harassing to Deeks, atleast in his perception! :)
- Deeks and Hetty. She gets tougher and tougher on her cheeky agent.
- And Deeks starts to being worried about Kensi with no news about her.
I have to say I got to know more about how Deeks gets anxious for his partners when he has their back in today’s episode than any other episode. There was no Kensi, no friend to feel for and yet Deeks heart beats for Sam, a partner, working alone, exposed to danger and possible trouble. It proves all his previous work on why and how he had Kensi’s back and how Sam was saved. And it comes out in a credible manner while working with Callen as his partner.

5x17 - Between the Lines
Read between the lines. Sam and Callen keep telling about this to Deeks to get better at job. And on the other side, integrity about the job one holds is lost between the lines as work pressure builds up at Federal Agencies that are resources strapped due to Budget Cuts.

Only one word can describe Joseph C Wilson. BOOM! His trademark style. Action that is what Joseph C Wilson weaves. Even though there are no explosions, there is plenty of action woven into the story. Its more enjoyable watching.
Though BOOM describes Joey Wilson, what is also important for us to know is that Joey Wilson is the resident master of Deeks character backstopping minus the Kensi related Densi relationship. In Joey Wilson’s stories, we get to know more of Deeks as the person he is, his habits at work, his style everything. I have to say I got to know more about how Deeks gets anxious for his partners when he has their back in today’s episode than any other episode. There was no Kensi, no friend to feel for and yet Deeks heart beats for Sam, a partner in trouble. It proves all his previous work on why and how he had Kensi’s back and how Sam was saved. And it comes out in a credible manner while working with Callen as his partner.

Episode Summary
A federal Agent (ATF Clerk)Kevin Clark is executed and his killing is recorded. He calls himself a rat who deserves to be exterminated as he serves hypocrisy. Later the video is uploaded and it goes viral.
Local Gang Yakuza is found to be the one which executed ATF Agent Kevin Clark. This leads to NCIS LA team to believe that there is a mole which led to gangmen infiltration into ATF Agents undercover. ATF is the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives run by United States Department of Justice. NCIS LA investigates, goes undercover and finds that Kevin Clark’s boss Agent Stone is the mole.
Watch the episode. Action is lovely with dialogues.
Afghan Story
Afghan Base Camp: Owen Granger, Booker and Kensi Blye
The Episode begins with ominous tone as Hetty’s voice recaps the White Ghost Story with last episode’s Kensi’s abstinence from shooting the White Ghost. Whenever Hetty narrates the recap, the story tends to get serious with ominous tones.
In this episode Kensi takes it upon herself to go and meet the White Ghost. She goes unarmed and is taken as captive by the Taliban men. Kensi asks them that she wants to talk to the White Ghost. We do not yet see White Ghost in today’s episode. Back at the base camp, as everyone admits unawareness about Kensi’s whereabouts, Granger becomes anxious about Kensi’s disappearance and that too without her sniper rifle. He asks Booker to find if any vehicle or mode of transport is missing. Kensi had gone on horseback to meet the White Ghost.
NCIS Personnel Highlights and Bull Pen Fun
Too much work and exhaustion is the highlight, but not for anyone else other than Deeks.
The team already finished one assignment in the morning and yet another case awaits them even before they have gone back to their desks after returning their weapons to the armoury. The highlight is ofcourse Deeks partnering with Callen and most of the story is also about Deeks through reprimand, tease and lone action.
Ops Manager
Hetty Lange
Hetty is the tough boss today. Really tough. No other words.
Partnership 1-
G Callen & Sam Hanna
Scallen. Banter as well. But this time the banter is about teaching Deeks to read between the lines, like they themselves read between the lines what each partner wants to do while in the field. Deeks has to understand the opposite of what Callen says when he is the field with Callen and in action, because that is how Scallen work successfully.
Partnership -2
Marty Deeks Alone, with ATF Agent and Callen
I had always wanted to see how Deeks and Callen when paired together, they would work. Today I got to see it. Must say, it was lovely to watch. Two similar people and yet with dissimilar attitudes. But they work well like elder brother and younger brother. Deeks speaks up to ask permission and Callen heeds to advise embedded in Deeks permission speaking and decides the next step. Callen doesn’t banter with Deeks like he rattles Sam, sitting in the car during stakeouts, but it was not totally bad. Callen does not have any problems with Deeks style and trusts him as team player delegating him independent work.
As information gatherer, Deeks was good in his info hunt. He gets to work with the other ATF Agent that he was talking to earlier.
Ops Room Partnership
Eric Beale- Tech Operator
Nell Jones - Intelligence Analyst
Both of them covered lot of investigation with their datamining and surveillance activities. Even Eric was tough is today’s episode. He too was teasing Deeks to stop being child. Nell not only did her work, also was friend to Deeks. She knew why he stopped and that he wanted to talk to her. Probably she already guessed he was going to ask about Kensi.
Love Story
Densi - Deeks and Kensi
Kensi has no interest in anything except to talk to White Ghost. That seems to be the case. Kensi has even jeopardized the mission on some kind of hunch she has. Well that too is on the surface, because we really do not know, if her hunch is correct.
However, on the other side of the globe, Deeks is getting worried about Kensi. He lost contact with her. He finds the same from Nell who confirms that she is not in touch with Kensi from two days. Even Scallen are picking up the “missing Kensi” from Deeks verbatim.
Watch it to see Deeks expressions when he thinks about Kensi from 5x14-War Cries onwards. That is the time, since when Kensi stopped showing any interest in Deeks and is only focussed on her mission. There is no second thought too about Deeks.

In crew's terms this is known as 516-113
The Production Crew has different numbers than what later became the air sequence. Season 4 Production Schedule had an extra episode shot which was telecasted as Unwritten Rule 5x05-101 in airing reality. This changed the sequence numbers for all the season 5 episodes either in terms of Season Episode number or actual episode number for show's grand total serial number. Between the Lines realistically becomes 517-113 for Viewers.
